The onyx bead measures approximately 12 mm, with an additional 1 cm bail connecting it to the chain. Keep the bead and bail in mind when considering where the necklace will fall, since together they extend approximately 2.2 cm below the 18-inch chain.

Although onyx is a natural stone and has more weight than lightweight materials such as resin or polymer, this bead is relatively small at 12 mm. It adds some weight to help the pendant hang vertically without pulling the necklace downward as much as a larger stone pendant would.
